#trainwanker

First Street Photography workshop under my belt and I actually got the train to Bristol, sitting there with my beard and man bag… It was Hipster Central baby. I nearly even had an episode of self importance!

I’m not going to mention the cat milk Double latte or the Stilton and Broccoli roll with pomegranate seed salad…

These images are going to follow the timeline. It was Pishing down so the remit was reflections, umbrellas, keeping the camera dry (I bought tea towel, see Hipster!) and people… I think I got it covered.

Thanks Graham, and I’m sure it’s not going to be my last.

Oh, and for the record, the Stilton and Broccoli roll with pomegranate salad was absolutely delicious and I’m never milking a cat again!

Well I never….

So, this is getting real. It’s less than a week until my next photography exhibition. The prints are done and ready and there’s no going back… I can’t wait (Ok, ok, I know, it’s just me showing off but hey, photography still rocks!)

And here’s a thought I’m going to leave you with, the small cluster of stars in the top of this image are The Seven Sisters, Pleiades (and not Ursa Minor as I’ve thought over the last 45 years… That’s embarrassing) and they’re 444.2 light years away which means that the photons I’ve captured in this image left the source 120 years before Stourhead was even imagined… that’s mindblowing!

The print should be in situ within the next few days and I’ll post here and on my Instagram account to keep you up to date @focalthingy if you’re not already there.

Neglect…

It’s a hard word and I have no excuses so I won’t bother trying.

Sorry I haven’t been about folks. I do have every intention of including my blog more in my everyday life which I’ll admit has been fairly busy recently (see, the excuses had to start) But, there have been some developments.

I am now one of the founding members of the Mere Photography Collective (aka Meretogs) A small local collection of photographers who will being meeting in the pub and sharing their knowledge, experience and tips over a couple of beers!

I am also honoured to be featured on The Ink Pot Online Gallery a great little charity that enables disadvantaged and upcoming artists to get their work out there. Feel free to fill your carts Peeps! ;o)

And also, still taking photos… And that’s the important bit! ;O0
