Done…

404 people, 9 days, lots of cider, lots of praise, lots of laughter, a little bit of boredom, 1 fight and some really wonderful, genuine people. And that Ladies and Gentlemen was my first ever exhibition.

This was the print that wasn’tDSC_7705

But on the other hand I’ve sold 18 of the prints that were. Costs have been covered with a little bit of gravy so all in all, a success.

Now, I’m dog tired but very, very happy… And scared of what the hell I’m going to do now!

And my little bit of advice if you’re thinking about exhibiting your work, do it, you have nothing to lose and, believe me, so so much to gain!

Thanks again to Glen and Michelle and to Sandie and my kids for their support!

It’s been great!

How useless am I…

I have neglected you… The countdown fizzled out on here but kept going in the real world and I am now 4 days into my first little exhibition and it’s been amazing. My images have been so well received and all feedback has been extremely positive. I think this could possibly one of the best things I’ve ever done…

And it’s now *Little Green Man season in Wiltshire too… Good days!

I think I’m going to do a bigger post closer to the end of the week with details and pics and I might have a spin around and get some shots of the other participants… There’s 330 of us. If you fancy a ganders at what we’re up to have a look at the Wylye Valley Art Trail website.

And if you’re local, pop along. It would be great to see you. If you’re not local, still pop along, it’s well worth the visit and this part of the world is looking gorgeous at the moment.

11 days to go…. Simple…

DSC_2088-EditPrints are in situ and now all I need to do is arrange where the hell I’m going to hang them all… The nerves are kicking in slightly and I’ve got so much to do. Best I sit here have a beer and edit a photo from a couple of weeks ago in the Chalke Valley then… I am so my own worst enemy…

I WILL have them in place and everything’s going to be amazing! ;o)

….16…..

DSC_4181-Pano-Edit-Edit.jpgAs you can see I’m really working on my soon to be (really) here exhibition…

This was the view from my office this lunchtime while I was doing my real job, pesky real job, putting me in all these wonderful locations around Wiltshire and distracting me so much that I need to get a 4 photo panorama of Roundway Down near Calne. A neolithic hill fort with commanding views across Devizes and a large swathe of the Wiltshire countryside. The light was hard, hence the B&W edit but I like! ;o)

19 Days and Counting…

DSC_4058-Pano-Edit.jpg

Prints are printed, mounted, signed and framed and I should be sitting here thinking about prices, descriptions and worrying about Peeps through the door but, man, tonight’s sunset was just spectacular! The light was changing by the second and this composition has been begging for the right light for months!

And, if you’re wondering what I’m blathering on about in regards to prints I’m exhibiting at the end of May in a local art trail. I’m really looking forward to it. Have a ganders at my website for more info and forgive me for going on about it over the coming weeks.

Why?

DSC_0364-Pano-EditWould you put an exhibition dedicated to the First World War in a crisp, clean gallery?  All white walls and straight lines… Na, better to put it at the top of a hill, surrounded by mud and open to whatever the elements throw at it. You want to see it? Then you’ll have to endure a tiny fraction of what they went through, just slipping and sliding without the threat of immediate and filthy death and, when you get there, it ain’t pretty.

DSC_0351-EditIf you’re able, take a walk around Stourhead, and have a ganders at Scraptors Sculpture Trail, they take some finding and they’re not in the pretty places…

Lest we forget Peeps…
