Manual 365/291 Step Aside Chlorophyll…

Carotene and Xanthophyll have taken the stage, big time! I do have a vision for my big autumn colour scene but it’s not today.

I do like the gritty, dirty feel to this shot though. The beauty and warmth of the summer being sucked back into the cold, damp earth…

dsc_8408-editWell, that’s all a bit deep, I’m off to find a tree to hug! ;o)

Manual 365/270 The Forgotten Suns

dsc_5811-edit A little darker tonight. My summer has been full of glorious views and plentiful colours. I feel the need to draw in tighter, glory in the grim and examine the mood of the desolate for there lies the detail and the challenge.

Don’t worry, I’m not going all Slipknot on you… There will still be the obligatory autumnal landscapes but I want to push the mood when I’m able to and hunt down the shot rather than let it expand before me and there will be people too!

I am really looking forward to the coming season! ;o)

Manual 365/131 The Fire

DSC_0041-Edit.jpgThe day has been grim, grey, wet and long so I’m using a shot from yesterday.

I’ve got to admit that I’m still a little uncomfortable documenting the ruin of this particular place but it is accessible and interesting.

From a technical point, I’ve actually upped my iso to 400 (most of my shots are ISO 100) and added some grain in post, the original was flat but I felt the need to add some detail and depth to the room.

Manual 365/87 Pennies For The Ferryman…

DSC_0185.jpg 20mm @ f/5.6, 1/320th sec, ISO100

Rather than the £13.50 it costs to use them new fangled bridge things!

A trip to the Severn Estuary and a slightly sucky tramp across marshland to the old ferry crossing. The mud was a tad disconcerting and got absolutely everywhere but the weather offered some interesting skies and engineering, both old and new, offered their own aspect to the shots.

And Universal Engineering offered the best of all!  DSC_0265.jpg
