Manual 365/48 Start, Middle and Now The End

Tonight is the last night of my holiday, back to the world of the working tomorrow and what joy that brings me… (I’m joking)

I’ve revisited some of the pictures taken over then last few weeks and I’m going to use them tonight.

Oh, how far away does that all seem now, but, chin up! Let’s see what tomorrow brings! ;o)

See you all tomorrow.

Peace Peeps!

Manual 365/45 Surfs Up! Piper On Dude!!!

Our last full day in Albufeira and still the moments pile in! There aren’t many occasions  you can say you’re watching surfers on a busy sea while listening to The Flower Of Scotland played (Very well I might add) on the bag pipes by a Canadian in Portugal…

Surreal to the very end!

Thanks to;

Dave, The Piper and his partner who I didn’t realise were together so they both got a card! (I’d love to see your work)

Surfers, just because!

Albufeira, for having such wonderful people, places, animals and attitude and I know the weather’s been shite but hey, rough with the smooth!  We will be back!

And last but not least, Sandie, Sue and Robbie! Thanks Guys! XXX

Manual 365/42 Super Heroines, Boobs And Bellies…

All model releases and relevant forms were signed to allow me to post todays blog and may I offer my thanks to my models, Sandie (The Wife) and Suzie (The Mother In Law)

The Indoor swimming pool in the complex insist that you wear a swimming cap so the first thing that was said upon purchasing said caps was… “What else can we use them for?” and voila, Super Heroines; Introducing Spider Pants and Deadpuddle!!!

Once they stopped prancing about like Mexican Wrestlers they actually managed to get into the pool I got some shots off which showed them in a much better light…

Like I said they’ve given me full permission to use the shots I have and I promise to destroy the ones they didn’t so, Thanks you again loads!

On a technical note, editing shots with reflections and other things involved with swimming pools (I expect lakes etc.. to be different again) was a little challenging hence the lack of pool shots but, once I get me head around it I will revisit these pictures so you haven’t heard the last from Spider Pants and Deadpuddle! *Cue the music*

Peace Peeps!

Manual 365/41 Who Would Love A Wonky Faced Dog?

A guy with the most amazing beard that’s who. He did look a little perplexed when I gave him a few Euros but his face lit up when I asked if I could take his picture. (I think he was taking a rest.)

It rained today so not many shots were taken but I did get Lobsters…

And they didn’t give a shit about the weather!

I have decided to only do my links occasionally but always sign out with…

Peace Peeps!

Manual 365/40 Parcel Tape and Feathers (And Not A Lot Else) Maketh The Costume!

A few days ago when we first enquired with the locals into the Loulé Carnival a concerned fellow holiday maker sided up to my wife and muttered, “I wouldn’t bother Dear, I’ve been today and there was nothing there.” Now, I don’t know what Planet Grump this particular being came from but I can categorically say Loulé Carnival is absolutely outstanding. The people were friendly and the beer cheap. Unfortunately the weather was shite(ish), Brolly sellers were making a killing! But they still put on one hell of a spectacle and all of the head dresses running for cover when it rained was funny as! The floats and costumes, or nearly costumes, were out of this world!

Now, unfortunately, because I wanted to make sure I got as many shots off as possible I deviated from Manual mode to Aperture Priority Mode and buggered it right up, most of them are blurred because of movement, thinking now that I maybe should have used Shutter Priority and checked… Often! Lesson learned!

I did get a few I liked though, I’ll start with a Serenade and the feathers and end with the parcel tape.

For the record, Manual was used for the guys on the horse and trap.

And now, the manual settings bit.DSC_5502.jpg

And a bonus, Spectators Section! DSC_5652.jpg

Manual 365/38 There Will Be An End To The Grey And Brown…

A little Facebook shaped birdy tells me that it’s not to good in the UK at the moment and I know how grey and drab it can be at this time of year but the spring is nearly upon us and everything will burst into life. But to do my little bit in the meantime I’ve got some shots of the local flowers around Albufeira. All the pictures were taken using my stock 18-55mm lens and all have had some post processing in Lightroom. But they were all shot in manual mode.

I have to say how impressed I am with Portugal, I know I’ve only seen a fraction but it’s all been amazing!

At the moment I am currently a resident in the Eden Resort

Manual 365/37 You Beautiful, Beautiful People!

I’ll let you all into a little secret, today is my 44th birthday. I had no idea I would eventually get here and I must admit, now that I’m here, I had no clue it would be like this and the best bit is I still have no clue to what is to come!

If I’m going to offer some advice, Baz Luhrmann style, (For those of you who don’t know, Google Sunscreen) It would be this…

Love more:

And, no matter what, you are beautiful… All of you!

All of these were taken on the seafront in Alburfeira today. And now I’m off to get really drunk! ;o)

Loves Ya! xxx

Manual 365/36 Mine!

First day into our excursion in Portugal and a walk around Albufeira with me clicking like a loon! 350+ shots taken and to be honest most of them were just rubbish! But, I’m here for the next 10 days so I’m going to think of today as a scouting mission.

That said, the Fella above let me get really close and he’s now the most photographed Seagull in Portugal and all of the pictures were overexposed but hey… Lightroom!

I’ve also been trying out my Street Photography and caught this guy,

DSC_4699.jpgNothing was going to distract him from his script and his choice of scarf was outstanding!

And my mission over the next few days is to work out how to get long exposures when it’s very bright. I have filters and I have youtube so I’m sure I’ll be able to sort something out!

So far Portugal is frickin amazing!

I’m Here

And, just one from yesterday,
