Ah, spring continues to march its way northwards and the sun now offers long awaited warmth and life begins to burst forth. Buds on trees begin to unravel, lambs prance across lush green fields and ducks turn into complete arseholes! We’ll Drakes do anyway. A short wander around the estate we’re staying on in Cornwall proved that fact beyond any shadow of a doubt.
I don’t know how long it had been going on but when I came across the group 2 of the drakes were harassing the hen and the other two were tearing lumps out of each other.
The chaos lasted for at least 5 minutes with the hen being held under the water for long stretches at a time. I suppose it was a small blessing it was only the two drakes bothering her and not all four. And then it was all over and calm returned to the lake… I don’t think it’s going to last though.
All of that said, it wasn’t very spring like this morning with the continual rain but I managed to lure a Rook close enough to get a shot off from the door and the suns come out now so, finger crossed it stays that way.
I’m getting used to the constrains and advantages of the longer lens too. All I need now are something other than birds to shoot!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Peace Peeps! x
